My first task as a member of the Risk Team in the Data Org at Postmates was to automate evidence submission for Stripe chargeback disputes. This was an abandoned manual process that would consume approximately 5 person-hours of an analyst\'s time per week. The company has saved approximately $26k per month on average since launch.I have also spent a significant amount of time refactoring and improving Pegasus, our real-time fraud engine. This work includes optimizations to allow for the arbitrary addition of new graph edges between different entities involved in possibly fraudulent transactions, allowing us to form richer connections and graph-based models. A great deal of the refactoring was done to introduce additional structures and guardrails to facilitate ease of development on behalf of our data scientists. Adding composable risk factors to Pegasus enabled us to support a use case that resulted in a savings of over within 4 months.Most recently, I have worked on the Pegasus API to allow for synchronous interactions with our fraud engine. Our first use case is expected to save us somewhere around per month.
