ABOUT VICTORIA INGHAM
I am currently a W1 professor at Heidelberg University Hospital within the Parasitology Unit. I am working on how insecticide resistance or insecticides themselvess may impact the competence of the major malaria vectors to transmit both P. falciparum and P. vivax. I work with collaborators in Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Guatemala and Nicaragua. My group also looks at novel resistance mechanisms and whether these can be used in vector control. We use a variety of bioinformatics, molecular biology, phenoptying and imaging to answer these questions. I am currently funded by DZIF (Deutschen Zentrum für Infektionsforschung), an ERC starting grant, the DFG (SFB1129), DAAD and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
