ABOUT VICTOR H. NAVARRO

Victor H. Navarro (born in 1976 in Santiago, Chile) is a San Diego based Architect and Educator. He holds a License to practice Architecture in the State of California, is certified by the National Council of Architects Registration Board (NCARB) and is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Raised and educated both in Chile and the United States, he obtained his M.Arch and B.Arch degrees with honors from Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, MI in addition to 3 years of Architectural studies in Universidad Central de Chile.Prior to joining AMD, Victor worked and collaborated on diverse project types gaining experience in the categories of single family residential, multifamily mixed-use, restaurant, hospitality, retail, government and education. As a versatile designer, he has developed projects that range from small additions to campus planning and of diverse construction and structural methods.Additionally, Victor is active in academia, having pertained to the roster of adjunct faculty at Newschool of Architecture and Design, where he has instructed several design courses, workshops, lectures and, most recently, co-authored and published a book on housing titled Social, Growing and Expandable Housing in a Border Community.Victor’s approach to architecture is through a process that he calls Emergent Design. It is highly based on collaboration, engages discussions on social and environmental responsibilities, and evokes a hybrid of research, rationale and intuition in which the end result yields the unexpected.
