I have built many seminal systems with over citations; authored 120+ scientific papers & over 160 issued patents. MANAGEMENT: I serve on the Microsoft Research Redmond Lab Leadership Team overseeing 200+ researchers, engineers and staff. Previously, I served on Microsoft Research Global Leadership Team working on matters related to the health, technical strategy and vibrant functioning of our domestic and international Labs. I have built one of the strongest and most respected research groups in the world and we have many important long-lasting contributions to the research community, Microsoft products, the industry, and the government.SERVICE: I have served on the CS advisory boards of WUSTL, MIT & UMD; I co-founded ACM SIGMOBILE; founded & currently serve as the steering committee chair of the MobiSys & MobiCom conference; on the SC of Symposium of Edge Computing; founded and served as Editor-in-Chief of ACM GetMobile. I have served as the General and Program Chair of several SEC \'18, DySPAN ’12, SIGCOMM ’08, and MobiCom ’99 and am serving on the steering committees of seven & ACM conferences & workshop, several of which I founded. I have delivered over four dozen five keynote talks and over 60 distinguished speaker seminars. I have served on seventeen PhD thesis committees and given a commencement talk at a major public university in New York. PAST: Prior to joining Microsoft, I worked at Digital Equipment Corp.(now part of Hewett Packard) for 9 years. There I worked on audio, image, and video processing well before multimedia became an industry buzzword. There I worked on the first hardware product for real-time multimedia on desktop machines. I also built the first industry-wide software library of A/V codecs and image rendering algorithms.
