ABOUT VICTOR LOPEZ

Victor graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in and was then commissioned in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served for eight years. During Desert Storm, he served as an Artillery Battery Commanding Officer and then as the officer in charge of the Marine Corps Reserve Center once he arrived in El Paso, TX. After his honorable discharge, Victor continued his military service for three years as a reservist.His varied interests in the private sector culminated into 18 years of experience to include manufacturing and mechanical services, but his primary interest lay in commercial construction where he held several leadership and project management positions. As a partner in his construction company, Victor participated in commercial real estate development and motivational speaking seminars until 2007 when he sold his interests in his construction companies and moved to Corpus Christi to begin work in the petroleum industry. During this time, Victor expanded his experience into industrial construction and maintenance in South Texas and continued his commercial construction career through successful completion of numerous projects in Corpus Christi. In January 2012, Victor transitioned into civil service at the Corpus Christi Army Depot, initially as the facilities division chief and then as a part of the senior management team of the depot. Continuing his career in civil service in January 2019, Victor took his current position with the US Army Corps of Engineers.
