ABOUT VICTOR HINOJOSA

Howdy everyone! I’m Victor Hinojosa, a first-year at the University of Chicago. I’m a passionate 19-year-old that has the mission to better the lives of others, even if I don\'t benefit. I have a passion for civic engagement, politics, and public policy that stretches back to my elementary school days. I\'ve had the opportunity to work to further my communities, personal as much as spatial, through my work in the JROTC as Regimental Operations & Training Officer and working with the High School Democrats as their Midwest Regional Director and push forward my own experience in leadership, campaign building, and policy. I\'ve also had the chance to work in the heart of public policy and education as the Student Board Member for Waukegan Public Schools, representing over K-12 Students and the ever changing issues and concerns they present on the daily basis. I also have been able to work with the National Student Board Member Association and build my own research, SOP writing, and management skills. When it comes to working within my environment and adapting, I\'ve been able to thrive in areas that give me such an opportunity. I\'ve worked in non-profit work such as Students Protecting Education or interned in the fast-paced environment of a County-Level Government - I do what I can to push the limits of my own work ethic and find ways to build upon the opportunity I was given for the others leaders behind me.At the end of the day, building the world around me to be one better than I found it is critical to my mission.
