ABOUT VICTOR FERRER

I was raised in the working-class cities of Southeast LA—Bell, Cudahy, and South Gate—where environmental justice is not just a policy term; it is lived reality. That experience shaped how I lead today: with purpose, perspective, compassion, and a little bit of edge.As the Director of Sustainability & Energy for the City of Pico Rivera, I drive climate, clean energy, and equity-focused initiatives, but I did not get here by staying in one lane. I have worked across Community and Economic Development, Finance, Public Works, City Administration, and of course, Sustainability. Basically, if it touches local government, I have likely had a hand in it.This makes me a generalist in the best way. I know how to move things forward across silos, build trust with diverse teams, and turn big ideas into actual programs (with budgets, timelines, and all). I am not afraid of red tape: I cut through it with strategy, humor, and the best unhealthy snacks.Proud UC Merced alum. MPA grad. Public servant at heart. Dad to two future world-changers. I lead with hustle, humor, and heart, and I believe that local government should be bold, equitable, and actually get stuff done.Let’s connect—especially if you are into climate, community, or just want to swap good grant war stories.
