The Editor-in-Chief directs the 3-year revision cycle, assigning standards based on complexity and expertise, and managing editorial workflows to ensure clarity, rigor, and timeliness. Additional duties include reviewing the Level of Evidence Table, resolving citation discrepancies, aligning bibliographic systems, and delivering training on technical tools. Oversight includes permissions management and archival organization to preserve content integrity. The role also involves coordinating committee assignments, tracking progress, communicating deadlines, reinforcing accountability, and promoting collaboration and scientific excellence across all stages of development.

ABOUT VICTOR D. ROSENTHAL

Experienced MD specialized in infectious diseases, epidemiology, surveillance, infection prevention, healthcare quality, and healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). Completed residency in Internal Medicine, fellowship in infectious diseases, obtained certification of clinical effectiveness from Harvard University, and hold a PhD in Epidemiology.Throughout my career, I have demonstrated leadership and innovation in academia, non-profit organizations, private healthcare institutions, and pharma and device companies consulting. Proficient in conducting research, developing software, publishing scientific articles, global health, public speaking, teaching, auditing, risk assessment, consulting, and collaborating with stakeholders.As a Associate Professor at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, I teach Infectious Diseases Epidemiology, I lead research on HAI epidemiology and prevention. Serve as Chief Scientific Officer of the International Nosocomial Infection Control Consortium (INICC), which I founded in 2002. Developed research protocols, surveillance systems, and educational programs across 50+ countries, collaborating with governmental and non-governmental organizations.Authored 425 scientific publications, including contributions to \"Bennett & Brachman\'s Hospital Infections\" and others. 155 publications indexed in PubMed. Research garnered citations, with an h-index of 73. Received 10 awards for excellence, including several granted by APIC and SHEA.I\'ve played vital roles in various organizations, such as JCI, contributing as a task force member for BSI prevention guidelines and as an author in infection prevention best practices; at the CDC, developing online software for multidrug-resistant tuberculosis surveillance; with St. George\'s University in the UK, conducting multicenter research on HAIs in pediatric and neonatal ICUs; with WHO, reviewing hand hygiene and MDR microorganism guidelines and providing primary data for HAIs meta-analysis; collaborating with multiple MOHs on HAI prevention guidelines; with the MOH of Italy and Swiss National Foundation, reviewing research grant requests. I\'m actively involved with IFIC, presenting at webinars, ISID, editing guidelines and publications, and with Oxford University, analyzing and publishing antimicrobial resistance data, alongside other international organizations.Skill set includes proficiency in research methodologies, data analysis, infection prevention, communication, and collaboration. Fluent in English, and Spanish, and intermediate in Italian, and Portuguese.
