Executive SummaryI now work for Tetra Tech AMI in support of the NextGen DME Program Office after working at FAA for over 34 years. During this period I have had an opportunity to hold multiple positions at various FAA facilities that has given me an in-depth knowledge and better appreciation of how all things come together at FAA to provide the safest, most efficient aerospace system in the world.Below are the some of my highlights:Knowledge of NAS: I have worked most of the 34 years supporting the NAS. I have supported Control Towers, TRACONS, Terminals, EnRoute, and the Airports. I have a clear understanding of the Spectrum, Air Traffic, NextGen and how they relate to the other LOB’s.Knowledge of Spectrum: I have been involved at all levels in the Spectrum Office from policy, to engineering to protecting the spectrum to support civil aviation communications, navigation, and surveillance (CNS) services. My responsibilities at Spectrum have been to ensure that FAA’s aviations bands are protected and all activities are coordinated within FAA program offices,FCC, NTIA, DoD and other federal agencies. I also provide frequency engineering support tothe service areas and headquarters with specific attention to the frequency management programs (ex. Spectrum/Frequency Automation, NAVAID Frequency Engineering, Radiation Hazard Program for Measurements and RFI Program).Management Skills: The last 34 years have taught me the management skills that are needed to become a better leader. Some of management skills that make me a better manager are: team player, focus on synergy, integrity, self confidence, domain knowledge, communications skills and business skills. I have the experience (complemented by training) to manage change and lead the organization by bringing in accountability and responsibility at the individual level. Further, I have the knowledge to implement “Balance Score Card” to bring efficiency at the organization level.
