About Victor Cuellar
I’m a finance executive and CPA with over 20 years of experience supporting capital-intensive businesses through growth, integration, and inflection points across energy, midstream, and infrastructure. My career has largely been spent inside operating environments where financial rigor, judgment, and calm execution matter.Across that time, I’ve consistently worked at points of transformation—helping organizations translate complexity into structure. Earlier in my career, this meant building and scaling financial and operational infrastructure around growth: supporting acquisitions, integrations, and greenfield development. More recently, my focus has extended to balance sheet and capital structure transformation—partnering with leadership, lenders, and investors on liquidity, asset valuation, and financial realignment during periods of business inflection.I’ve built and led finance organizations that connect accounting accuracy with forward-looking insight—supporting executives, boards, lenders, and investors as they evaluate tradeoffs around capital allocation, liquidity, and enterprise value. Much of my experience has been in transaction-adjacent and post-integration settings, with exposure across the full lifecycle: acquisition, integration, build-out, scaling, refinancing, and exit.Today, I’m continuing to deepen that foundation through the Executive MBA program at Rice University, sharpening how I frame decisions under uncertainty and how finance can serve as a true operating partner—not just a reporting function. I’m especially interested in how disciplined financial systems enable better decisions long before outcomes appear in the financial statements. My recent MBA work has focused on applied problems at the intersection of capital allocation, operations, and risk—ranging from energy transition economics to early-stage ventures and large-scale operational failures.I thrive in environments that value judgment, transparency, and long-term thinking—particularly in infrastructure and other asset-intensive businesses navigating complexity, where finance is expected to inform decisions early, not simply explain results after the fact. I’m most effective in settings where operating realities, capital allocation, and financial reporting are tightly connected.I’ve found that the most meaningful connections tend to form through curiosity, shared perspective, and thoughtful conversation. Perspective tends to deepen over time, and the exchanges I value most are those grounded in mutual learning.
