ABOUT VICTOR A OWOYOMI
As a Senior Social Researcher, I have demonstrated excellent leadership and organisational skills, multi-agency stakeholders engagement skills and professionalism whilst delivering research projects and programmes within social policy, marine development and environmental sustainability including healthcare improvement services in the UK and Nigeria. I have excellent track record of working successfully with multiple stakeholders including academic/research institutions, government agencies, transnational development donors, local authorities, coastal communities and charity organisations. Hence, I have been recognised and endorsed by the British Academy as a Global Exceptional Talent in the field of Social Sciences. My expertise has been to critically conceptualise, design, implement, evaluate and deliver value that can improve social and environmental policy goals, business benefits, and health outcomes for the underserved population regardless of culture, race, colour, gender, class, religion, social standing, or any other socioeconomic equity issue. I have achieved these by adopting agile and hybrid methods, evidence-based approach (EBA) and strong policy advocacy for social, environmental and health improvement for the underserved population: deprived coastal communities, persons with disabilities (PWDs), vulnerable homeless street children and families.I have adopted evidence-based approach to influence public and private institutions to mainstream disability policy and issues into their development programmes and activities at the state and national level to promote compliance to state and national disability law in Nigeria, West Africa. In 2021, I led an exquisite research team on a national research project: Assessment of Whistleblowing Policy in Nigeria: A project proudly supported by MacArthur Foundation and AFRICMIL, Abuja Nigeria. I managed research and programme components of the Ford Foundation project on implementation of disability law and social policy including equitable access to health, education, electoral participation and employment opportunities for persons with disabilities in Nigeria, West Africa. I taught as a visiting lecturer SOC 121, PSY am a Research Fellow from the Brown International Advanced Research Institute (BIARI), Rhodes Island, USA with a program certificate in Social Entrepreneurship within Health and Humanitarian Innovation.
