About Vickie Yakunin

Leader in Community Investment with 15+ years of agency and corporate experience in charitable giving, social impact, employee volunteerism, foundation management, workplace giving and communications for brands including Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications, Charter Communications and American Airlines. After leaving Charter, I worked at the Communities Foundation of Texas where I learned best practices on foundation management. This transition from corporate to a foundation was purposeful and deliberate as it laid the groundwork for the next step in my career. I was excited about the opportunity to join American Airlines, the largest airline in the world. During my time at American, I’ve been able to expand my experience by leading a portfolio of work that was new to me. I take a collaborative approach when creating innovative community relations campaigns, driving business results, and elevating the company image within communities. My community investment work is aligned with business objectives. With outstanding advocacy and relationship building skills, I have a track record of successful community partnership work. Metrics are developed to align with business objectives in order to measure the success of strategic community partnerships. I’m known as someone who is optimistic, extroverted, open to feedback, curious, a good listener, a team builder and someone who generally sees the world through a positive lens. With a passion for collaboration, relationship building and mentorship, I have built a career by supporting my team members and making a difference in their lives. I thrive in an environment where colleagues work together to find solutions to complex problems and to achieve outstanding results.
