ABOUT VICKIE F.

With over 15 years of NHS experience across both clinical and non-clinical roles, I’ve developed a well-rounded understanding of healthcare systems and the importance of seeing the full picture, from frontline delivery to strategic improvement. For the past five years as a qualified nurse, I’ve worked in high-pressure environments such as Emergency Departments and in specialist roles including Alcohol Clinical Nursing, always with a focus on delivering safe, compassionate, and person-centred care.Now, as a Specialist Nurse for Safeguarding Adults at NAViGO CIC, I feel genuinely privileged to support staff, advocate for patients, and strengthen safeguarding practice across services. My role allows me to work at the intersection of care, protection, and empowerment, ensuring that individuals—particularly those who may be most vulnerable—are heard, respected, and safeguarded.My background in the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards continues to shape my practice, underpinning my commitment to upholding autonomy, dignity, and human rights in every decision. I am passionate about supporting others to build confidence in these areas and embedding best practice into everyday care.At my core, I am driven by a deep sense of responsibility to get it right for patients. I am not only a caregiver, but an advocate for meaningful change—committed to challenging outdated hierarchies and promoting a culture where every team member feels valued, regardless of role or background. I believe lasting change comes through shared knowledge, mutual respect, and the courage to question the status quo. Whether I’m supporting complex decision-making, mentoring colleagues, or influencing practice, my goal remains the same: to contribute to a more inclusive, compassionate, and equitable health and care system for everyone.
