With both admitted and non-admitted personal lines P&C underwriting experience my perspective is quite diverse. Strong relationships have been built with brokers, independent agents and clients. The importance of accurate pricing, understanding the customers need, along with sound risk engineering is my specialty. As an underwriter my focus is to make solid profitable decisions for the company yet creating the best solution for my customers and agents. I have lead several teams including the countrywide employee advisory council (working to improve employee engagement). Site Volunteer Lead Coordinator for approximately 400 employees and Small Business Mob Leader with ideas capturing the entire company. For self development I have been a leader in the Professional Women’s Network specifically leading the Marketplace Pillar. Additionally, in 2019 I joined the fraternal board for Foresters Financial Life Insurance as a branch Councillor and in 2020 I became the Vice President for the greater Southern California branch. In this role budgets are assessed, events are planned, funds are distributed based on priorities, meetings are managed and the team is motivated to “do good” and make a difference within our communities. Over the course of almost 20 years at The Hartford multiple Excellence Awards/Deliver The Difference Awards have been received for superior customer service, underwriting skills and acumen with my performance ranking in the top 5% in 2009, 2011, 2015 and 2018.In 2022 I took a leap into the high net worth space learning the ins and outs of Excess & Surplus underwriting. I find this type of custom underwriting is surprisingly creative and unique. Who knew you could use the colorful word creative in such a gray space. Renewal underwriting was the focus in 2023 but now in 2024 New Business is my new priority. I truly enjoy the research and risk engineering involved in finding customized solutions for my affluent unique clients.

   Vetting out a high volume of incoming submissions to identify the ones that fit our company’s profitability profile. Underwriting involves complex new business of some of the world’s wealthiest individuals which requires a high level of confidentiality within authority levels which also includes broker travel and relationships. Engineering the risk sometimes includes \"manuscript\" endorsements —writing specific language to include or exclude certain risks based on the client\'s unique situation. With this deep knowledge of ISO forms, catastrophic modeling, and complex financial statements are assessed all while spending a significant amount of time \"selling\" my company’s appetite to appointed specialized wholesale brokers.
