As the Assistant Director of Human Resources & Risk Management for the City of Glendale, I provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for a comprehensive HR program that supports a diverse municipal workforce. I partner closely with city leadership to align people strategies with organizational goals, ensuring Glendale remains an exceptional place to work and grow.I lead and support initiatives across multiple functional areas including employee and labor relations, benefits and wellness, classification and compensation, talent acquisition, organizational development, and HR systems. My role focuses on strengthening workplace culture, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.Key responsibilities include:• Overseeing HR programs and staff in key areas such as employee relations, compensation, benefits, wellness, leave of absence, ADA, HRIS, public records request, PSPRS Boards, deferred compensation, and training and development.• Providing strategic guidance and recommendations to executive leadership and City Council on HR policies, labor matters, and workforce planning.• Developing and implementing new or updated policies to enhance organizational effectiveness and employee engagement.• Managing complex personnel issues, and ensuring equitable, transparent processes.• Acting as HR & Risk Management Director in their absence, maintaining continuity of leadership and service delivery.• Championing innovation, inclusion, and continuous improvement across all HR functions.I’m passionate about fostering a culture where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to deliver exceptional service to the community
