In 1948, Norman Rockwell created the vivid piece “Tough Call” illustrating three umpires interrupting a close baseball game between famous rivals (Brooklyn Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates) to decide what to do about changing weather conditions. As an Educational Leader in the 21st century, I routinely make tough calls to prepare future generations for changing conditions not only in climate, but also technology, science, social mores, the work force, and more. Do you wonder how to best prepare them to navigate this dynamic future? Well, I’m Vic Anderson, and I’ve spent 15+ years doing just that. A few examples are below: Awarded Performance: Received multiple awards at Washington’s largest school district for reducing student achievement disparities.School Principal: Received awards for improving graduation rates 6% and student achievement as much as 16% in three Seattle urban secondary schools with almost 2K pupils, 140 staff, and budgets up to $400K.Educational Activist: Actively serve with Chief Education Officer Network, Lobbyist, and Presenter for education advocacy group boasting 98% of WA Principals as members.New School Oversight: Instrumental in converting comprehensive high school into three semi-independent entities.Strategic Partnership: Administered $150K grant for strategic teacher certification partnership with Antioch and Seattle schools.Qualifications: Conducted research at largest Pacific NW District and earned Ed.D. in Systems Leadership.
