ABOUT VIBHUTI SHYAM

I am a third-year B.A, LL.B.(Hons.) student at National Law University, Jodhpur, with a strong academic and professional interest in corporate governance, securities law, intellectual property rights and the ever-expanding field of tech law. My legal and academic journey so far has aided me in delving deep into these varied fields, from the newly emerging concerns of data privacy on one end to various consumer law issues such as dark patters and the Online Real Money Gaming industry. With practical experience gained at institutions such as the Journal For Intellectual Property Studies, Centre For Economics, Law & Public Policy as well as meaningful social work with organisations such as the Centre For Disability Studies & Empowerment (CDSE), I have honed my research, drafting, and analytical skills as well as a pinch of social good. From conducting nuanced research on moral rights under Indian copyright law to exploring the interplay between foreign investment regulations and corporate restructuring, I have developed a keen understanding of both transactional and regulatory aspects of the law. My work with journals, policy think tanks, and legal scholars has sharpened my skills in legal drafting, policy analysis, and cross-jurisdictional research.What drives me is the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the evolving landscape of Indian corporate law, Intellectual Property frameworks and Technology Law, especially at the intersection of technology, regulation, and innovation. I have a keen interest to see the Indian legal frameworks be at par with International standards, particularly with respect to Data Privacy and Artificial Intelligence.
