I am a seasoned professional with 12+ years of experience in the industry. Currently a Software Development Manager (previously Senior Software Engineer) at Amazon with ~10 years of tenure at Amazon. I lead engineering teams building foundational features for Amazon Photos: uploads, downloads, content and metadata storage, sync, encryption, and retrieval. I own foundational production services, super-critical data stores operating at more than a billion requests daily across millions of customers. As manager, I lead multiple cross-team projects, operational tasks, cross-team meetings, system design reviews, mentoring, 1:1s, performance reviews, and product leadership communication. I collaborate with product leadership on roadmaps and feature launches. My responsibilities include final go/no-go review for high-impact projects. I sign off on major technical decisions and feature launches involving multiple backend teams, including mine.As an engineer, I have leveraged a broad suite of technologies and techniques - including but not limited to - AWS, Big Data, Elasticsearch, ELK, Object Oriented Programming, Databases, IaaC, System Architecture and Design, AI/ML, etc.Over the last decade, I have successfully delivered pivotal projects with high visibility (Director/VP) and spanning multiple backend core infra teams. I have been responsible for designing and delivering backend systems scaling to billions of requests, with a focus on privacy, security, scalability, availability, cost optimization and performance.
