Mechanical properties charcterization of advanced materials using Digital Image Correlation: advanced high strength steels, magnesium alloys, headliner materials, airbag materials, seat materials, advanced hybrid battery materials. Implementation of a magnesium decklid inner on the Cadillac STS. Developed analysis framework and tools which enable multi-disciplinary design optimization for the purpose of achieving performance balanced design in the concept stage of the vehicle development. Developed and integrated parametric morphing process with multi-objective optimization tools. Spot weld pattern optimization for stiffness and normal modes performance improvement.
