About Veronica Alvarez-Galiana
As a community-engaged academic obgyn, I am passionate about increasing access to high-quality obstetric & gynecologic care for all. I am also passionate about teaching and advancing research with the next generation of physicians. My years as a medical director and my involvement in organized medicine spawned my interest in pursing an MBA, which I will complete in 2026. I am excited to train the next generation of obgyns to be caring, compassionate and competent doctors as the program director for the new and upcoming FIU/Baptist Health OB/GYN residency program. I serve as the chair for the Miami Section of ACOG, as a delegate for ACOG at the FMA, am on the boards of the Miami Dade County Medical Association and the Miami OB/GYN Society, and was an ACOG McCain Advocacy fellow. I believe we can improve health care as physician leaders in many ways- with our patients, our communities, by teaching, advocating & through continuous self-reflection & improvement. I’m grateful for the support of my family & for the chance to do all of this one day at a time.
