About Veronica Wiltshire

I am a board certified pediatrician with a passion for community medicine. In my current role, I have the privilege of starting the newest One Health Pediatrics Practice in Clemmons, North Carolina. I am very committed to making sure all children get access to excellent care, especially those who are underserved. As a physician leader, I am always ready to take a stand whether as a guest speaker, panelist or news contributor to fight health disparities and to bring awareness of the needs of patients, their families and their community. I believe that with access to care, access to necessary resources, equal opportunities and adequate education, we can see true improvement in health equity. As a former CMO, I have the experience of healthcare management, clinical operations, population health, quality improvement and risk management. I had the opportunity to chair the clinical quality committee for the North Carolina Community Health Centers Association’s large clinically integrated network(CIN). I gained expertise in developing strategies for improving quality and value based care. I developed a greater understanding of how systems in our communities and social determinants of health play a critical role in patient health outcomes. I’ve also advocated for grant funding and worked on policies to improve patient care and safety. As a clinical quality improvement consultant, I work with community health centers to analyze their data on key performance measures including operations, UDS and HEDIS measures. I help provide strategies to implement changes that will improve the health center’s quality metrics, patient safety, patient satisfaction, patient engagement and make the health center an “employer of choice” for both patients and staff. As a mentor, I am always very happy to speak with minority pre-med students so I can help to give guidance and feedback as they navigate what can sometimes be a very difficult road to medicine. From my road to becoming a physician and a CMO, I’ve gained a lot of experience through trials. I love to share with younger physicians and students so they can be equipped during their journey.I am honored to have the opportunity to care for our future generation, to use my voice as a physician to advocate for patients and to empower our young people to think big, be brave, always stand up for what’s right and be innovative.
