Director for municipality department overseeing the City’s robust vacation rental, code compliance and cannabis industry.Responsible for managing and overseeing the City’s vacation rental program, code compliance, and cannabis program including policy development, revenue collection, licensing regulation, and enforcement. Work closely with, the City Manager to accomplish established goals, programs, and adopted work plans for the cannabis and vacation rental programs. Supervise six full-time Program Specialists and fourteen code compliance officers. Enhance program services and reexamining existing processes with a focus on strengthening interdepartmental relationships and developing staff. Ensure the provision of excellent customer service, providing timely responses to Council Offices and other stakeholders. Direct, oversee, and participate in the development of the work plans; assign work activities, projects, and programs; monitor workflow and evaluate work products, methods, and procedures; monitor budget and project cannabis revenues; and make recommendations to increase the effectiveness of programs. Oversee cannabis-related processes including the business license process, the plan check and permitting process, tax and fee collection, and the issuance of City cannabis and other permits. Engage with the community and present to the City Council on new cannabis and vacation rental policies and initiatives; meet with the City Council and respond to requests for information.
