About Veronica Armstead-Williams

Veronica S. Armstead-Williams is a regional planning professional who strives for data and research driven results with a creative flare fueled by innovation and self-motivation. She sees urban design, architecture, and public spaces as vehicles for fostering change and improving the quality of urban life. No matter the scale of the project, she believes that equity with a community-based and ecological approach should be central to modern urban design. Her current interests include exploring public design opportunities that touch and improve the overall human experience in a sustainable and inclusive manner.As a former United States Peace Corps Volunteer, Veronica worked with Mozambican communities to create sustainable grass-roots development projects with a focus on empowering vulnerable populations. She has volunteered with other international and domestic organizations, such as Habitat for Humanity in Guatemala, the GivePower Foundation in Nepal, and the South Eastern Pennsylvania American Red Cross’ Disaster Action Team. In her current role as a federal building manager, Veronica oversees the maintenance and operation of the James A. Byrne Federal Courthouse and works with different levels of government entities, real estate professionals, and technical professionals, such as engineers, architects, projects managers, facilities managers, and construction control representatives.     Compile, analyze, maintain, and articulate programmatic data related to recurring federal facility servicecontracts in support of executive level briefings to supervisors, directors, and agency leadership- Monitor, maintain, and evaluate data of multi-regional recurring federal building services related toacquisitions as well as contract administration- Conducts complex, on-going analytical evaluations related to the acquisition management of recurring federalfacility services, and participates in unusual, controversial and sometimes highly sensitive aspects of theprogram- Prepares and/or conducts briefings for higher level management to explain the specific analysis of acquisitionmanagement of recurring federal facility service contracts, as well as to support recommendations or actionplans of senior-level contracting officers providing guidance and/or direction for implementation- Serves as a program analyst on internal audit readiness/assessment functions to include conducting acquisitionas well as contract management risk assessments for the use of internal control assessments/testing, processdocumentation development and all activities in support of efficient acquisition of recurring federal buildingservices- Coordinates with multiple internal / external agencies and organizations on various facility service vendormarkets, including the Ability One Commission, private industry partners, and multi-Regional leadership GSA PBS offices- Research and maintain working knowledge and understanding of relevant regulations, policies, and operationsto identify and remediate gaps in business processes/internal controls; provide status updates and challenges toleadership related to maintenance of the federal public building portfolio.
