I built The Global Climbing Initiative from a graduate research project at Yale into the first nonprofit of its kind, supporting climbing communities worldwide with funding, training, and equipment to build equitable, sustainable climbing ecosystems. • Scaling a global nonprofit serving 42 grassroots climbing organizations in 25 countries • Leading strategy, partnership development, fundraising, and organizational growth from inception • Shaping community grant programming supporting local initiatives in economic development, environmental protection, creative storytelling, and social change • Spearheading multi-year corporate partnerships with global outdoor brands and overseeing six-figure fundraising campaigns • Implementing climbing leadership programs rooted in safety, environmental stewardship, and community-defined goals • Managing international teams, volunteers, and advisors across time zones and cultures • Representing GCI in public forums and media to advance conversations on global equity in outdoor recreation
