About Vernon Young

Hi, my name is Vernon Young! I am a graduate with a Bachelor\'s of Science in Finance with some emphasis on Accounting from The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania. Chicago, Illinois Native, with a passion for basketball scouting, recruiting, mentorship, and player development at a high level to accelerate player growth. I began my professional playing career signing with R1 Sports Management participating in the agency workouts for NBA G League affiliates of the Dallas Mavericks and Detroit Pistons. I eventually signed to play professionally in Morocco Division 1 Excellence league where I averaged double figures. The following year I went on to play in Asia where I lead my team in all statical categories. In 2021/22 I became the head women\'s and U19 youth basketball coach for Lidingö Basket in Stockholm, Sweden. In this position, I was able to bring a different and fresh view towards basketball while building a new culture to establish a winning environment. In this role, I have secured basketball scholarships at the college level in the USA for youth players of this organization as well. Currently, I am completely open for a new role. As for my future, I hope to continue to work in basketball with coaching and player development at the highest possible level developing and fine tuning the best athletes for the sport. In my free time, you can find me catching up on missed basketball games, learning about real estate, and all the latest movies/series. Some of my biggest strengths are social media strategy with content creation, communication, leadership, organization, and skill building.
