ABOUT VERITY WENNER

Verity has spent the past few years working across children’s and youth services, developing a strong foundation in residential care, mental health, and youth advocacy.She brings a wealth of frontline experience in youth services, housing support, and mental health — including working with at- risk and marginalised young people, delivering trauma-informed residential care, and offering consistent emotional support and crisis intervention for the young people she works with.With a lifelong commitment to social justice, Verity is particularly passionate about policy reform, human rights, and community mobilisation. For over three years, she volunteered with Pure Mental NI, Northern Ireland’s first youth-led mental health charity, where she served as both Operations Officer and Board Member. This experience strengthened her skills in youth-led advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and grassroots solution-building.Verity also co-developed an In-School Mental Health Toolkit, working alongside young people and schools to create a free, tangible resource that promotes emotional wellbeing in an educational setting. Her approach blends hands-on support with a strong understanding of systemic barriers, grounded in the belief that individual care and structural change must go hand in hand.Outside of formal roles, Verity is an active citizen and community advocate. From student councils to grassroots organising, she has consistently shown up — lending her voice to movements for housing rights, women’s rights, human rights, and more.
