This tool was a core feature of Project APEX, a 2023 Aviation Weekly Laureate winner valued at over $54M in annual savings- Gate-Checked Bag Predictor: Replaced a legacy linear model with a deep learning solution to predict gate-checked bags per flight. The new model is over 20% more accurate (an improvement of >2 bags/flight), directly contributing to a reduction of up to 2.5 minutes in departure delays and improving on-time performance.
