Role : Sr Mechanical Engineer - VAVEResponsibilities: Design, analyze, and develop mechanical parts and assemblies for capital equipment and semiconductor wafer fabrication equipment (WFE), supporting multiple system configurations and platforms.Lead concept-to-detailed design execution for mechanical structures, thermal systems, and fluid delivery systems with a strong focus on engineering optimization for cost, performance, and manufacturability.Drive value engineering and VAVE initiatives by identifying material and component cost reduction opportunities through BOM analysis, CAD tear-downs, and product benchmarking.Perform functional and cost driver analysis of assemblies and sub-systems, documenting findings and recommendations for design optimization and cost targets.Own end-to-end project execution, from opportunity identification and concept development through engineering execution, validation, and BOM cut-in, consistently exceeding cost and performance objectives.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, supply chain, quality, sourcing) and suppliers to evaluate design, manufacturing, and supply constraints early in the development cycle.Develop engineering proposals incorporating design modularity, alternate materials, and cost-effective manufacturing processes while maintaining functional and reliability requirements.Validate designs through simulations, hand calculations, prototype builds, and testing in compliance with Lam standard design practices.Analyze assemblies and sub-systems for fit, interference, and tolerance stack-ups to ensure robust, producible designs.Define and develop engineering requirement specifications for sub-assemblies and sub-systems in alignment with system-level requirements.
