ABOUT VENETIA WYNTER-BLYTH
Thirty years in healthcare teaches you many things, not least how fragile and simultaneously brilliant people are. I\'ve worked as a cancer and palliative care nurse a health tech founder and more recently an independent consultant. I\'ve seen the sharp end of a system creaking under pressure but also the loyalty and sheer determination of people who want to make things better. My work, my passion is to use my experience to make healthcare work better for those who deliver it, those who use it, and the organisations that hold it together. As we stumble into a world dominated by tech and AI, I\'m most interested in preserving and strengthening human connections, conversations and communities. Bringing people together to share stories, challenge assumptions and shape change from the ground up. I’ve spent the past decade working in prehab and rehab. I set up my first programme in 2016 because I saw an opportunity for change. To create something where people are given a chance to influence their own outcomes. Since then, I’ve developed an in-hospital service, moved into digital health, and more recently designed a community-based programme led by people with lived experience. This last one works because it puts relationships at the centre. Pretty good at the stuff that makes ideas real, organisational change, culture and writing bids that land. Have secured just over £8 million in strategic funding from organisations such as Innovate, NIHR and The Health Foundation. I believe in outputs over posturing, in challenging convention, innovating and exploring the art of the possible, or even the impossible. But, above all, in getting stuck in and having fun along the way.
