ABOUT VELLAVALAPALLI SATISH

I am a mechanical engineer with a Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, working at the intersection of scientific computing, biomedical engineering, and translational medical research. My work focuses on applying computational modeling, numerical simulation, and engineering principles to develop solutions that support clinical decision-making and improve therapeutic technologies.Currently, I serve as a Project Research Scientist at Indian Institute of Technology (ISM) Dhanbad. My research involves developing computational frameworks and digital twin approaches to support treatment planning and improve outcomes in biomedical applications. This work integrates simulation methods, biomedical data, and engineering analysis to address complex challenges in healthcare.During my doctoral research at IIT Ropar, conducted in collaboration with Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, I developed numerical models to study microwave ablation for cancer treatment, focusing on bioheat transfer and optimization of thermal therapies. This research aimed to improve energy delivery strategies while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue.I actively collaborate with clinicians and medical researchers from different hospitals to ensure that computational models and engineering solutions remain clinically relevant and aligned with real medical challenges. My research interests include scientific computing, biomedical modeling, bioheat transfer, digital twins in healthcare, computational simulations, and engineering-driven approaches for advancing medical technologies.
