ABOUT VEIKKO VALLI

Experienced small-cap portfolio manager with in-depth knowledge of quality and growth investing as well as International/European equities. Currently utilizing \'big data\' to drive an investment approach that relies on both quantitative and fundamental analysis. Extensive international experience developed through positions held in Portland, Helsinki, London, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Fluency in English, Finnish and Swedish along with proficiency in three other languages (German, Norwegian and Russian). A strong foundation in the finance industry including: Trading strategy development, 7-years of buy-side, 6-years of sell-side, 3-years of alternatives and 3-years of corporate finance experience. Additionally, a 5-year Master\'s degree with finance as a major and accounting as a minor. Therefore, offering a strong as well as versatile skill set in finance and investing experience throughout two economic cycles: the ‘tech bubble’ and the recent economic downturn.Especially passionate about equity investing and what makes a quality company a good investment. In-depth understanding of valuation with DCF, multiples and abnormal earnings models utilizing ROIC and economic adjustments. Experience in small-caps has given a strong basis for expanding investment knowledge, both in terms of scrutinizing the underlying business drivers and the opportunity to discuss assumptions directly with top management making the decisions.
