ABOUT VEERAL SHAH

Veeral S. Shah, MD, PhD I graduated Summa Cum Laude with Honors from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science and Double major in Philosophy and Neuroscience. During my undergraduate education I was awarded the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) fellowship. I received a Medical degree and a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I was awarded the Keverline Service Award for Ophthalmology Excellence at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. I next completed his medicine internship at the Lankenau Medical Center in Wynwood, Pennsylvania. Where I returned to Pittsburgh to complete ophthalmology residency at University of Pittsburgh Eye and Ear Institute. I was awarded University of Pittsburgh Basic Science Research and the AUPO Research Fellowship Award.I completed a Neuro-Ophthalmology Clinical Fellowship at Bascom-Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida, where i was awarded Bascom-Palmer Eye Institute Fellow of the Year Award.I completed a Pediatric Ophthalmology Clinical fellowship at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.I am Board certified with the American Board of Ophthalmology. A fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a Specialty Fellow with the American Association of Pediatrics. also a member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS).Also was invited to observe and study Visual Electrophysiology at Moorfields eye Hospital and currently have and dictate visual electrophysiology findings.
