Worked as part of the Qualcomm Snapdragon Modem Chip Project. Modem Reset Driver – Developed a subsystem manager for modem reset handling using C. Linux Container (LXC) – Implemented virtualization on OpenWRT and created a custom lightweight rootfs tarball for containers. Boot Key Performance Indicator – Implemented bootchart on OpenWRT for performance analysis and visualization. Contributed to initiatives focused on boot time optimization and boot order optimization. Experimented with parallel process launch and blocking procd. Split start time using stream editor. Served as the Point of Contact. Valgrind – Implemented valgrind on OpenWRT. Fixed compatibility issues related to debug symbols. Validated leak values against procrank. Ported python script to generate an automated leak report. Developed a template to trigger valgrind through init scripts. Served as the Point of Contact. Automation scripts – Designed and coded multiple python scripts to fetch and consolidate crucial licensing-related data. Memory Map Experiments – Optimized run-time memory (VSS/RSS/PSS/USS). Optimized memory on rootfs by eliminating debug symbols and eliminating redundant code lines to reduce rootfs size. Implemented core dump backtrace for effective crash dump analysis. Berkeley Packet Filter (BPF) – Developed BPF package on OpenWRT using C. Tuned kernel defconfig for bpftool. Enabled and upgraded OpenWRT packages and libraries, including creating, applying, and releasing patches. Debugging – Identified and resolved errors in C code and modules. Bisected builds to find the culprit changes responsible for crashing the build or regressing the Key Performance Indicator values. Implemented kernel command line modifications. Resolved python dependencies, environment and OpenWRT build system related issues. Tuned kernel configurations and adjusted ramoops userspace config for Pmsg-pstore logs.
