Senior Software Engineer - Cars, Search Experience Team @Booking.com

I currently serve as a Senior Software Engineer within the Search Team at Booking Cars. In this capacity, my role revolves around pivotal contributions to the team\'s success, including- Development of Backends for Frontends (BFFs) for search functionality enhancement - Active engagement in the Accessibility Guild - Dedication to enhancing Micro-Frontends (MFE) performance My responsibilities span a diverse technology stack, involving Typescript, ReactJs, NodeJs, and AWS, to ensure peak performance of our search platform. Collaboration with colleagues is essential to refine solutions and maintain quality standards in line with the Booking Engineering Community\'s recommendations. Testing assumes a crucial role in our development process. We employ a range of testing tools and methods, such as Jest, Test Cafe, Nightwatch for cross-browser testing, and Smoke tests. Monitoring release efficiency is facilitated through Kibana and Grafana. Our work emphasises accessibility and responsiveness, with comprehensive reviews for each task. Operating in an Agile environment, our workflow includes daily stand-ups, ticket refinements, retrospectives, and pre and post-amigos meetings, fostering a collaborative and efficient work atmosphere. Streamlined CI/CD pipelines via Kubernetes and GoCD simplify testing and coding processes. GitLab serves as our version control platform, facilitating efficient code collaboration and tracking. Within the Search Team, my role is dedicated to driving innovation and excellence in the development and optimisation of our search platform while ensuring accessibility and performance enhancements are a top priority.
