   Currently, I am heading end-to-end responsibilities for customs regulatory and statutory compliances on a Pan India basis for multiple Gateways, Delivery Centers and Express Counters with accountability for strategy planning, budgeting, operational excellence, government/trade body liaisons, process improvements, cost optimization, cross-functional stakeholder management and reporting.Customs Compliance was a newly customized role created in the organization for leveraging my subject matter expertise and domain leadership for driving the compliance aspect. I have been instrumental in setting up, scaling up and heading the Customs Compliance function from scratch, first on a regional basis and subsequently on a national level.I am a member of various leadership committees and teams such as Senior Operations Team and APAC CRA Group and work with regulators, KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders), and trade/government bodies for driving compliance related changes/best practices. I have been engaged in the Ministry of Commerce initiatives as a former member of DGFT and have facilitated policy limiting the number of mandatory documents required for imports/exports. Also, contributed as a member of Second Task Force on transaction cost in 2013, represented CII and presented before DGFT on the same.Guided stakeholders in the area of customs compliance, created awareness on compliances within the organization, enabled commercial exports on the courier mode leading to cost savings and operational improvements, drove the KYC and due diligence process across the organization, ensured optimal operational due diligence across the multiple Gateways and Service Centers, addressed the various customer queries with respect to customs clearances and other statutory matters, conceptualized and defined audit metrics for customs compliance and initiated regulatory changes like night clearance for the first-time-ever in the courier industry history
