About Vasily Sidiakov
Hello! I’m a 4th-year BSBA Finance student at the University of Colorado Denver (graduating May 2026). In my previous role as a Financial Analyst with the Downtown Denver Partnership, I’ve reviewed the financials of over 200 local businesses to support stabilization and mitigation grants for companies impacted by construction on the 16th Street Mall. I did this through careful analysis of income statements and cash flows to understand how different business models actually make money, helping prioritize limited capital across very different types of businesses. On the technical side, I enjoy building valuation models in both Excel and Python, primarily three-statement and DCF models. I like back-testing assumptions, tying everything back to the primary KPIs in the business, making sure the output is clear and tangible in a real business decision. I’m currently aiming my skill set towards equity research and investment banking roles where I can continue employing my analytical skillset in a real, deal-driven environment.Outside of finance, I love collecting niche fragrances and have a passion for great architecture. I also spend a lot of time diving deep into British culture, primarily through rap and grime artists like Dave, Skepta, and JME, pairing it with streetwear from brands like Corteiz. Like many first-generation Russians, I also have a soft spot for Russian literature, with Dostoevsky and Turgenev at the top of the list.
