About Vitor Silveira
Vitor Silveira has six years of experience in public policies, data analysis, and monitoring. He holds a Bachelor\'s degree in Economics from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil\'s leading university. While working as a Project Leader for Impulso Gov, a Brazilian nonprofit, he led a project to support 21 small and medium cities\' local response against the Covid-19 pandemic, using individual-level data to help cities decide if/when to impose or lift social distancing measures. The impact evaluation of the initiative demonstrated that this project saved almost lives. Previously, Vitor worked for more than four years as a public servant at Sao Paulo and Parana State Department of Education. He developed new projects and monitored public policies that impacted more than 4 million students. Moreover, Vitor has volunteered for seven years as a tutor in a local educational nonprofit in Brazil. Through these experiences, he developed strong project management, data literacy, interpersonal, and implementation skills. Vitor is passionate about using data to support the development and implementation of education and public health policies to contribute to a better, more egalitarian world.
