ABOUT VASILEIOS TSORMPATZOUDIS
I am a passionate and ambitious engineer with a Ph.D. in control and power networks. At the moment, I am working on the electrification of transport fulfilling tasks such as modelling, calibration, cell integration, optimization, and research.I enjoy learning and mentoring my peers. My primary interests are modeling battery cells as well as optimization and control of battery systems for a variety of applications. I am experienced in designing experimental procedures and utilizing data analysis frameworks. I am a data enthusiast. Some of the tools I use for the above are Python, Matlab, Simulink, and Alteryx. My Ph.D. research focus was on quantitative analysis of the power losses, round-trip energy efficiency, and the control of commercial BESSs for improved availability while participating in frequency response services. A novel SoC management control was devised for which the asset dedicates a percentage of its rated power to manage its SoC. This control increased the revenue of the system owner while minimising the system\'s degradation.
