About Vasanth Reddy Aleti

I’m a Software Engineer at Microsoft working on large-scale systems in the Microsoft 365 Backup ecosystem, where I design and build infrastructure that handles high-volume workloads with reliability and efficiency. My work includes backend services, control layers for job scheduling, anomaly detection for cost and performance monitoring, and full-stack admin tooling that helps teams manage complex backup operations at scale. I enjoy solving engineering problems where scale, performance, and system stability are critical. Over time, I’ve also started enjoying tasks that involve analyzing system behavior, working with signals and metrics, and building data-informed features — experiences that sparked my interest in the intersection of distributed systems and applied machine learning. I’m particularly excited about systems that can learn from operational data to enable smarter automation and decision-making. Outside of work, I have a strong background in competitive programming. As an ICPC Asia West Finalist and top-ranked coder across Codeforces, CodeChef, and LeetCode, I’ve solved 1500+ algorithmic problems, which shaped how I think about efficiency, optimization, and building solutions that hold up under constraints.
