About Varun Kohade
I am Software Engineer at Microsoft. I did masters from Computer Science Department in University of Texas at Dallas and bachelors from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), India in Computer Science major.With over 14 years of Industry experience, I am having a strong fundamental knowledge of software design especially highly available and scalable backend architecture, good object oriented knowledge and programming knowledge of working in Java, C, C# on Linux, Mac or Windows Technologies.I am fast learner and have experience in diverse field. I started my career in telecommunication company and developed a database server for IMS network. Later while doing MS, my focus was to gain experience in Data science and I did qualitative projects in Machine Learning and Big Data. Continuing my journey as a data science student, I chose to work in same field and joined health care based company. I gathered good experience in big data technologies like Hadoop Map-Reduce Framework, Pig-Latin and Hive. Then I moved to seattle and started working in Amazon.com as a Backend Developer mainly in customer reviews team. Here, i dealt with building and maintaining highly available and scalable architecture. I gained good intermediate and working knowledge of some Amazon Web Services which i applied in my projects. Then, I worked for Microsoft in Azure Invoicing Team, the customer facing team which directly impacts Microsoft revenue. I designed and Implemented highly scalable and available architecture for the retrieval of detailed large customer invoices.
