Varun Kumar is a physician executive with a passion for building and optimizing high-performing healthcare systems. He currently leads clinical teams across Texas and Washington at HarmonyCares, where he drives improvements in clinical outcomes, patient engagement, and cost of care for a ~$130M P&L.Previously, Varun led network quality and access-to-care strategy at SCAN Health Plan, helping improve Star ratings across all key markets. His work contributed to over $250M in financial impact, in collaboration with the Stars data team, pharmacy, and executive leadership.He has also held leadership roles at the Houston Methodist ACO, where he supported its rise to a top-15 national ranking; at Devoted Health, during the launch of its second market; and as the founding CEO of a digital health startup.Varun is board-certified in internal medicine and continues to maintain a small clinical practice. He is dedicated to the creative development of intelligently designed healthcare systems.
