About Varun Gudi
I am an MD/MSc candidate at St. George\'s University School of Medicine, transitioning from clinical rotations and electives to self-directed research projects and collaborations at The Brooklyn Hospital Center. My career focus is in internal medicine and pulmonary/critical care, and I am excited to gain more experience in clinical research while applying to residency programs during fall 2023. Prior to med school, I earned my bachelor\'s in biomedical engineering in 2015 at UC Irvine. In between undergrad and med school, I performed wet lab research in cardiovascular bioengineering at UC San Diego, as well as lab work in pharmaceutical research and development in the San Diego area. I’m motivated by innovation in medicine and how healthcare delivery systems educate and treat vulnerable populations.Outside of medicine, I love learning how to cook various cuisines, listening to and talking about anything related to music, and am continually on the search to making the perfect cup of coffee.
