About Varun Naganathan
I work at the intersection of reinforcement learning, NLP, and applied agent systems. Over the past 2+ years, my focus has moved from just building agents to deeply understanding how agents behave as they change -how prompts, tools, models, and memory interact, where decision boundaries move, and why agents regress in subtle, hard-to-detect ways in multi-turn settings.I spend most of my time analyzing agent behavior, identifying the surfaces where agents are likely to act out of order, and designing systematic ways to test those behaviors exhaustively. The core problem I care about is not “how to build an agent,” but how to know an agent will keep working as it evolves.Today, I help teams building conversational and voice agents make their systems more reliable, safer, and easier to ship - by bringing rigor to how agent behavior is measured, tested, and validated across every change to prompts, models, tools, or capabilities.
