About Varun Deepak Gudhe

I’m a software engineer and bioinformatics researcher with a background in computer science and computational biology. My work sits at the intersection of software engineering, data science, and biological data analysis, where I design scalable systems and data pipelines to solve complex problems.Currently, I focus on building cloud-based applications and data processing systems, working with technologies such as Python, Java, AWS, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps practices. My experience includes developing backend services, optimizing data pipelines, and deploying containerized applications in distributed environments.My academic background is in computer science, with a focus on areas such as AI, machine learning, and data science. Through my work as a research assistant, I became involved in bioinformatics and genomics, where I worked extensively with Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data, metagenomic analysis, and ancient DNA research. In one of my research projects, I analyzed DNA from the New York African Burial Ground to identify human and microbial signatures and assess ancient DNA authenticity using established bioinformatics pipelines.Beyond engineering and research, I enjoy mentoring students and sharing knowledge in areas such as data science, machine learning, and software development. I’m passionate about applying computational methods to real-world challenges, whether in biological research, data-intensive systems, or large-scale cloud applications.I’m always interested in collaborating on projects that combine software engineering, data platforms, and scientific discovery.
