Hi! I’m Varshini, an Applied AI/ML Scientist at InfiniaML. At Infinia, I get to use NLP to help hospitals and healthcare providers get money back from insurance companies quickly and accurately. Before this job, I got my Masters in Computer Science at Georgia Tech with a specialization in Computational Perception & Robotics, which is a blend of computer vision, machine learning, and robotics algorithms. My interests in math, problem-solving, and interdisciplinary exploration led me to my specialization, where I learned how to create intelligent systems that understand and interact with the world in meaningful ways. I also love learning about the human mind and behavior, which is why I minored in Psychology during my undergrad (which was also Computer Science at GT). I hope to always be part of a cause with significant impact while in innovative, scientific areas of computing. Some other relevant work experiences include interning at Bloomberg where I worked on a data science research project to improve Bloomberg Law’s search system and my work at GTRI as a health data analyst for 2 years during school. While at Georgia Tech, I had the opportunity to TA for Computer Vision (my favorite class), Ubiquitous Computing, and CS Ethics. I also worked on a research project that involved analyzing LLMs\' ability to handle referential continuity (anaphora), benchmarking different models like Llama, RoBERTa, Mistral-7B.In general, my areas of interest include computational perception, cognition, machine learning, and AI safety.
