Act as a Mechanical Lead for various programs in Embedded Systems and Modules for air, ground, naval, and space applications• Work on the design of avionics mechanical hardware with respect to electronic packaging i.e. PCB boards, CCA’s, and components, and metal housing/chassis• Perform hand calculations for structural and thermal analysis to predict stresses and component/metal temperatures• Run fluid and thermal simulations for systems involving conduction, convection, and radiation at the module and chassis/assembly level• Determine the analysis approach on how to simplify and break down simulations in Cadence’s 6SigmaET thermal software• Analyze thermals and present margins under different cases and/or boundary conditions with respect to power, altitude, and temperature • Work closely with the electrical engineering team to document PCB/CCA and component level heat dissipations under different conditions• Conduct thermal design trade studies with respect to margins, risks, and costs• Calculate tolerance stack ups to prevent fit and functionality issues• Use CAD software SolidWorks and Creo Parametric in parallel to build models
