About Van McNutt

I’m currently a junior at Missouri State University, working toward a double major in Finance (Corporate Investments) and Risk Management & Insurance with a 4.0 GPA. My passion for the financial services and insurance industries has led me to take on leadership roles as President of Gamma Iota Sigma (Alpha Lambda Chapter) and Vice President of the Financial Management Association (FMA) on campus. Throughout my time at MSU, I’ve had the opportunity to travel and represent our programs at conferences across the country—including Chicago, New York, Kansas City, Indianapolis, Columbus (OH), and more—gaining valuable exposure to the industry and building strong professional networks. I\'ve also had the privilege of presenting to the Ozark RIMS Chapter and the Executive Advisory Council at Missouri State, and I was honored to be one of four students representing MSU in the Spencer Foundation Risk Management Challenge. My professional experience spans a variety of internships, including: Kearney Trust Company in Kearney, MO, where I served as a bank teller and the youngest member of the Asset & Liability Committee, advising the bank president on strategic planning, and analyzing balance sheets, P&L statements, bond redemption reports, and more. Amwins in Kansas City, where I interned with both the Access and Brokerage divisions—building Excel tools to streamline communication tracking, organizing loss runs, auditing over 60 accounts, and reclassifying more than 300 client records. This upcoming summer, I’ll be joining Alta Risk in Overland Park as a summer intern, and I’m excited to continue expanding my experience in the insurance industry. I’m driven by a desire to learn, lead, and grow—and I\'m always open to connecting with others in finance, insurance, and risk management. Let’s connect!
