About Vaniel Simmons
Having graduated from Rhodes College with a BA in Psychology and Gender Sexualities Studies, I am now working at Community Alliance for the Homeless (CAFTH) here in Memphis, TN. I first got started with CAFTH as a Youth Action Board member in 2021, and I am proud to now be the coordinator overseeing the Youth Action Board now. I have a life-long passion for social justice, especially for queer rights and youth advocacy. In my free time, I enjoy photography, journaling, and collage. I am also a contributor to Focus Magazine, an LGBTQ+ culture and community magazine for the Mid-South. I am a member of Evergreen Presbyterian Church and have recently been getting involved in writing and delivering sermons.
