ABOUT VANESSA ZHANG

Hi there! My name is Vanessa, I’m currently working towards pursuing my Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of British Columbia majoring in Psychology and minoring in Family Studies. My fascination with human connection led me to specialize in Social Psychology, where I explore the social and cultural dynamics that shape our behaviors and communication. As I studied the psychology behind social interaction, I naturally found myself drawn to digital media and marketing. I\'ve since taken on roles in social media strategy, marketing, and graphic design — allowing me to combine analytical insight with creative execution. Seeing how a strong visual identity or message can transform engagement continues to fuel my interest in the field. Having grown up in Vancouver and mainland China, I also became especially passionate about mental health awareness and breaking the stigma that still surrounds it in many communities. This personal drive has shaped much of my work and advocacy, both on campus and beyond. In my free time, I love to pursue different forms of art, such as photography, creative writing, illustration, as well as film and video editing. You\'ll likely always find me with a camera in hand, or fixated on adobe illustrator. I find that I\'m most myself when I’m able to express myself creatively! Ultimately, I’m passionate about understanding people and using that understanding to create meaningful, resonant content. I’m always open to new opportunities where I can keep learning, collaborating, and building something impactful.
