ABOUT VANESSA COLVIN

I am an accomplished human resource professional with extensive experience managing a broad range of human resource functional areas. I take pride in being a proactive partner in developing human resource programs and practices focused on attracting and retaining top talent that are aligned with business strategy. For the last several years, I have been working as a Senior HR Consultant with The University of Kansas Health System. I am a subject matter expert in leaves of absence and workplace accommodations and assist employees and managers navigate the leave of absence process and ensure compliance across all leave and disability programs. The primary function of my role is to conduct interactive discussions and negotiate leave and workplace accommodation requests, as well as, educate leadership on FMLA and ADA initiatives and compliance. My experience is cross functional and also includes compensation, analytics, and benefits administration. While working for my previous employer, Hallmark, I provided analytical support, and influenced HR client groups, line partners, and recruiters regarding compensation practices. I also had the opportunity to pursue my passion for the support of disability advocacy in the workplace.
